A Republic Crumbles

A looted treasury
And a Government stumbles
With heavy deficit
A Republic crumbles

A country failing
So a State rebels
Another follows
Revolution swells

A Liberal failure
And Conservative disaster
Two parties serving
A Federal master

A people divided
A Police State grows
More and more taxes
So rebellion arose

The States are separate
And can choose a course
Even when facing
A Federal force

The force is of dollars
Thrown their way
A carrot on a stick
To be pulled away

Homes are taken
Jobs disappear
This Federal monster
Is something to fear

Politicians do nothing
Not doing their job
They just sit in the Congress
No more than a mob

This system in failure
Need be torn down
And State rights restored
Before we all drown

An abusive Uncle
Sam is his name
His nieces and nephews
Just pawns in his game

He forces his will
And is grabbing for power
So our love for our Uncle
Is now bitter and sour

This Federal relatives
Cost is too steep
We can no longer afford
To let the blind lead the sheep

Serviceman's Heart

A Soldier stands by
And lets out a sigh
As he ponders his orders received

He watches the lines
His Commander designs
But he questions if he's been deceived

He's given his oath
But loyal to both?
His heart being torn in two

He must follow his orders
And watch foreign borders
And he still wonders what he should do

As his oath is his word
Is his honor deferred?
His heart continues in turmoil

What should he follow
His chest aching hollow
Has duty turned into just toil?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Seaman works on
His resolve almost gone
The values he swore to uphold
His mind is now clouded
His purpose now shrouded
As he must always do as he's told
Why is he here?
Is there real fear?
The questions are filling his head
Has justice been stifled?
Has honor been trifled?
Should duty be something to dread?
Has he given up choice?
Is he allowed no voice?
Where do his loyalties lay?
His shoulders now droop
In a prisoner's stoop
Yet with his life he was willing to pay
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An Airman looks back
Her commitment an act
She's troubled by what she feels

Who do we serve...
On this zig-zagging curve?
She asks of her God as she kneels

Her skills she did hone
So she could pilot a drone
To deliver the death requested

Who ordered me, this?
She prays for a miss
Her faith in her God to be tested

Many questions are thought
Her answers are naught
Though she signed when she heard the call

The rights that she quitted
She has finally admitted
Has caused her faith to fall

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The three to a one
Thought they'd have fun
Fighting for their land
But with honor depleted
And Americans cheated
It gets harder to take a stand
Yet, in the Oval Room
Sits the man of Doom
A tempest heading his way
He keeps his head down
Hiding his frown
While directing his own little play
And we know he can see
The confusion of three
That were willing to give up their lives
For they are the force
That need a true course
If they are to use their knives
They pledged to no man
They care not who ran
The Constitution is their Light
The President may command
But it's the People who demand
That the Document Governs our might.
Us Versus Us
The lines have been drawn
As we're easy to con
So, Americans have chosen their side
The liberals on the left
With self worth bereft
Have let Washington use their pride
Conservatives lean right
Having lost sight
Their individual values subverted
And both argue their case
Most based on race
So their causes are being perverted
A Tea Party forms
Outside of the norms
We wondered what they are
We see no need for concern
We just watch and we learn
And believe that they won't get far
But the Tea sellers got seated
Right and Left were defeated
So now Congress must drink some Tea
The cooperation of two
Was hard enough to do
And now that number is three
Washington has failed
Its job derailed
Too many cooks can spoil the soup
Now it's the peoples' job
To stop acting the mob
And calm down and try to regroup
Our Constitution's been thwarted
Our rights being shorted
Our goal must be that of one
For if we back down
It is we who will drown
Under threat of a Federal gun
The Constitutional conerstone
That our rights we won't loan
No matter what the threat
Our rights are our shield
That gives strength to not yield
That truth we must never forget
The Feds keep on trying
To keep rights from applying
As they consolidate all power
We can't see the Fed's plan
With our heads in the sand
While they look down from their tower
It's our time to stand tall
And for the obelisk to fall
For Americans to take a stance
We must go to great lengths
And combine all of our strengths
To quit leaving our future to chance.
The Eagle
The legend's an old one
The purpose a bold one
As the Good and the Evil still war
But the battle's the same
It's still freedom we claim
And our rights we yearn to restore
Our God given rights
The base of our fights
The Eagle has snatched in it's claws
Due process a lack
In The Patriot Act
The hated Destroyer of laws
It's needed they say
With your rights you must pay
Our Homeland is under attack
We can see that it's so
But they think we don't know
It's the Eagle performing the sack
Our airports are seized
And the cowards are pleased
That the Eagle controls our sky
A new kind of protection
And terror detection
Powers the Eagle to fly
The wings cover light
It's a soul chilling sight
To those who are willing to see
That the Eagle has grown
And eats the seeds that we've sown
It's now deaf to our inalienable plea
Liberty blossomed from seeds
Where now there's just weeds
In fields that were plowed with our blood
The Eagle flies around
While we are earthbound
And our Constitution is trampled in mud
We will continue to battle
As we're not timid cattle
Fit only for the slaughter
Our rights can't be taken
The Eagle is mistaken
And our country has started to totter
For it's the People who rule
And if the Eagle's no fool
He will start to act with some care
That Great Bird of Prey
Will hear what we say
Or else be shot from the air
The Congress and POTUS
The Senate and SCOTUS
Can consider themselves being warned
Lest they forget
Their jobs come with debt
And these angry cattle are horned
